Worship with Us

Visitors: Below we attempt to answer questions you may have about attending the Mainesburg Methodist Church.  We also invite you to see a greeter for a small gift for our first time guests.

What should I wear? Be yourself and be comfortable!  You will find folks wearing everything from ties to jeans.

Where should I enter the building?  From the parking lot (at the rear of the building), enter through the door and walk down the hallway and turn to your right.

Is Mainesburg UMC's sanctuary wheelchair accessible?  Yes.

How do you serve Holy Communion, and can I partake as a guest?  Communion is served the first Sunday of each month and during other special services.  We serve Holy Communion (the Eucharist) by "intinction".  Each person is given a piece of the bread to dip in the cup.  Children are welcome to receive Communion or receive a blessing prayer.  Guests are invited to share as well.  In the United Methodist Church we believe that "all who love Him, who repent of their sin, and seek to live in peace with one another" may join in Communion.

Do you offer childcare?  Currently we do not offer childcare during the service.  However, we do have activity bags for children to use during the worship service and offer a children's message.  We encourage children to participate in worship and see them as a vital part of the congregation.

What is expected of me as a guest?  You are welcome to participate as little or as much as you would like.  We do not expect you to put money in the offering plate as the service is our gift to you as a guest.  Please feel free to fill out a visitor card if you are worshiping with us for the first and/or second time and you will receive another gift from our family to yours.
